Driver William Lindsell, a Woolwich man, first entered the French Theatre of War in mid-August 1914 with 27th Brigade, R.F.A. but was awarded his M.S.M. for services with 4th Depot, R.F.A. (London Gazette 3.6.1919 refers). Lindsell was also the recipient of a Silver War Badge (MIC entry refers).
