A FINE PRINTED AND PHOTOGRAPHIC ARCHIVE APPERTAINING TO THE SOMERSET LIGHT INFANTRY AND THE DUKE OF CORNWALL'S LIGHT INFANTRY, comprising, in several files, a mass of inserts, newspaper and magazine cuttings and copy photographs, in addition to more contemporary and original material, and also featuring coverage of the Volunteer and Militia Battalions, the S.L.I. files including two original and attractive watercolours of soldiers of the Regiment in marching order, representing dress of 1867 and 1879, both initialled 'F.S.', six mid-Victorian 'carte de visite' of Officers and two cabinet photographs of an N.C.O. and Private from the turn of the century, in addition to some contemporary postcards; the D.C.L.I. files including two 'carte de visite' of an Officer and a Private of the 1860s, the latter being attractively hand-painted, three fine group photographs from the Boer War period, in addition to several other interesting group photographs, assorted postcards and much besides, a most useful archive with many identified personnel
