1847-1903, a representative one volume collection, basically fairly complete, and, despite being of very mixed quality, containing a fair percentage of good to fine examples. The collection includes Providence, Rhode Is. 1846 5c. of fine appearance with trace of cancellation at left (R.P.S. cert. "...cannot certify as used, although genuine"), General issues 1847 5c. (2), fair examples cancelled in red, 10c., a fine-looking example cancelled in red, 1851-56 imperfs. (13) with 10c. and 12c. pairs, 1857-61 Perf. 15 with 1c. (IIIa) and 1c. (IV) both fine, the former cancelled in blue, 5c. red-brown (I) used (partly reperforated), 1861-62 (18) to 90c. (reperforated at left) with 30c. (2), 1861-66 (15) with 2c. unused (part original gum), 1867 Grills (23) with "Z" 12c. pen cancelled and straight edged at left, "E" 1c. (2), 2c., 10c. and 15c., "F" 5c. (2), 10c. (2),15c. (2), 24c. and 30c. mostly with faults, 1869 1c. unused (part original gum), 1c. to 90c. used with both 15c. types, generally good to fine, the 90c. with R.P.S. cert. stating "...some perforations reinforced", 1870-71 Grills 7c. and 15c., 1870-71 No grill 1c. to 90c., 1873 Continental 1c. to 90c. and selections of later issues, Postage Dues with 1879 30c., 50c., 1884-89 30c., 1891-93. 30c., 1894-95 50c. unused with traces of part original gum and Departmentals with Navy, Treasury and War values to 90c.
