A GEORGE III BRASS-MOUNTED MAHOGANY AND MARQUETRY MANTLE CLOCK
Late 18th Century
The circular white enamelled dial with Roman chapter ring and blued steel hands, the single-barrel going with later escapement, housed within an arched case with surmounting brass handle, the bezel with turned molded surround above a lozenge containing a ruffled conch shell within an oval reserve, flanked to each side by in-stepped brass spreading Doric columns below ball finials, each side with lion mask-and-hoop handles, on a stepped and molded base with stepped brass bracket feet, inscribed in black ink No. 1 10in. (25.5cm.) high,
10in. (25.5 cm.) high, 7in. (18cm.) wide, 4in. (10cm.) deep
