The circular foliate cast enamel-set dial with Roman chapters signed 'GUDIN A PARIS', within an arched waisted case framed by rockwork, C-scrolls and foliage, the glazed door with pierced rockwork and C-scroll base mount, on rockwork scrolling feet, surmounted by a tapering hood with a scrolling foliate mount flanked by a dragon, the waved tapering bracket edged by C-scrolls and rockwork and terminating in a C-scroll and rockwork boss, stamped 'MARCHAND' and 'JME', the movement signed 'GUDIN A PARIS' remounted

Jacques Jérome Gudin, maître horlogen in 1750, recorded at Quai des Orfèvres, 1769-1784.
Nicolas Jean Marchand, maître circa 1735, was established in rue Saint-Nicolas. He mainly produced good quality ormo lu-mounted lacquer commodes as well as clock-cases.

Jacques Jérome Gudin, maître horlogen in 1750, recorded at Quai des Orfèvres, 1769-1784.
Nicolas Jean Marchand, maître circa 1735, was established in rue Saint-Nicolas. He mainly produced good quality ormo lu-mounted lacquer commodes as well as clock-cases.
