Lot Essay

Emily Ann Hawley (19 May 1806-11 August 1875) was born in Wallingford, Connecticut, the daughter of Jesse and Amarallis Cowles Hawley. On 15 October 1823, she was married in Providence by the Rev. Dr. Gano to Richard Evans Eddy (19 July 1802-29 April 1870), a graduate of Brown University and the son of merchant Moses Eddy (1766-1823) and Hannah Carpenter.
