A WOOL ON LINEN MEMORIAL
Possibly American, circa 1850
Worked in green, white, red, pink, gold, grey, and black wool and yellow silk threads depicting memorials and angels inscribed, BLESSED ARE THE DEAD THAT DIE IN THE LORD above IN REMEMBRANCE OF Richmul wife of Thomas Greenhalgh Who died October 10th 1837 aged 41 years Our mother is gone and we are left The loss of her to mourn But may we live to meet again With christ before is throne Also of William their son who Died august 28th 1839 aged 19 years And of Eliza their daughter who Died march 4th 1850 aged 19 years Death has been here and borne away Two children from our side Just in the morning of their day As young as we they died, all within a meandering vine and clover border
