Maker's mark of Tiffany & Co., New York, circa 1910
Comprising a teapot, covered sugar bowl, cream jug and waste bowl, each globular, the lower body fluted, the matte shoulder and rim with gilt geometric border, the cover with beaded border, gilt foliate calyx and ball finial, the teapot with ivory insulators, the oval tray with similar gilt border and two bracket handles, the center of tray with gilt monogram AOM, marked under bases

Lot Essay

The monogram is that of Alfreda Olivia Mitchell (1874-1967), the eldest granddaughter of Charles L. Tiffany (1812-1902), founder of Tiffany & Co. According to family tradition, Louis Comfort Tiffany presented this tea set to his niece.
