A SET OF FOUR OF STAFFORDSHIRE CREAMWARE PLATES

Of Whieldon type, each moulded as a berried branch on a leaf surround, the border as opposing leaves suspending a third similar and applied atop a basketweave ground, the scalloped rim as stiff leaf tips, splashed in brown, the three leaves in yellow and ochre, 8¾in. (22.2cm.) diam.; together with three other with feather-moulded rim, similarly splashed with brown and green orche spots, one with scalloped rim moulded with panels of Chinese fence, tapered and dot-and-dash columns and splashed in green and yellow on the mottled brown ground, one with shaped panelled 'ermine' rim and splashed allover in brown with green and blue spots and a soup plate with scalloped rim similarly splashed and one with mottled brown glaze within a shaped rim moulded with flowering branches and with blue, yellow and green coloring, 9 1/8in.-9¾in. (23.1-24.2cm.) diam. (11)
