Lot Essay

Related to a picture also formerly in the Fauchier-Magnan Collection known in another version in the Fondation Gulbenkian, Lisbon, (A. Morassi, Guardi, I dipinti, nos. 948 and 934, fig. 831). Antonio Morassi judged this drawing to be a late work by the artist. A copy of this drawing by the artist's son Giacomo was formerly in the Mather collection in Springfield, Mass.
