A PAIR OF HATCHER CARGO JARS AND COVERS
Mid-17th century
Ovoid and painted in underglaze blue with scattered floral and fruiting sprigs and boughs of blossoms, the short necks with a flame border, one slightly domed cover with a spray of grasses and blossoms and the other with bamboo and grasses growing from weathered rocks

The property of Captain Michael Hatcher, recovered from a Chinese vessel sunk in the South China Sea and sold Christie's Amsterdam, 14 March 1984
