A MASSIVE FAMILLE ROSE TUREEN AND COVER
Mid-18th century
Circular and enamelled in a rich famille rose palette with a pair of long-tailed exotic birds encountering a gilt and black spotted insect in a lattice fence peony garden, a pair of blue and pink songbirds hovering nearby, the scene repeated on the slightly domed cover which is centered by a high knop decorated in iron-red and gilt with a tasselled lotus head
