Of barbed and lobed outline and enamelled with garlands of pink and yellow roses, the top rim painted with the arms of Meneses, Noronha, Coutinho in a rich famille rose palette beneath a coronet, the center with a loose bouquet of leafy peony and chrysanthemum

See also N. de Castro, op. cit., for a history of Dom Diogo José Vito de Meneses Noronha Coutinho (1739-1803), who ordered this service and later accompanied Princess Maria Leopoldina to Brazil for her wedding to Dom Pedro I of Portugal and Brazil
