Lot Essay

Sebastian Erard also founded a shop in London supplying musical instruments to Queen Victoria and other members of the Royal family. A similar burr-maple and parcel-gilt harp was sold anonymously in these rooms, 14 October 1999, lot 476, (6,900), which was engraved Sebastian Erard, Harp & Piano forte maker in Ordinary to Her Majesty and the Royal Family and Sebastian Erard's Patent No. 3629/18 Great Marlborough Str, London
