A PAIR OF GEORGE III MAHOGANY ARMCHAIRS
Probably North Country, late 18th/early 19th century
Each rounded back with molded crestrail centered by an acanthus leaf, the pierced back with waisted uprights each centered by a patera, the inswept acanthus-carved arms terminating in scrolls above acanthus-carved uprights, the bow-fronted seat upholstered in zebra-patterned velvet, on tapering square fluted legs headed by paterae and flanked by opposing C-scroll angles above spade feet (2)
