The center with the arms of Orry within shaded pink and seafoam green rocaillerie, the rim with an elaborate border of stylized blue enamel acanthus, coral branches and patterned shapes, on the reverse fir iron-red lingzhi fungi

Lot Essay

One member of this French family was the Père Orry of Paris to whom Père d'Entrecolles wrote his famous letters from Jingdezhen in 1712 and 1722. A plate from the service was sold Christie's New York, 21 January 1999, lot 227
