A pair of Chinese pewter groups
18th/19th century
each modelled with a figure standing on a waisted rectangular stand before a tall rockwork plinth supporting a circular receptacle for a mirror, one depicting Guixing with laughing expression beside his pet Buddhistic lion attached to a chain, the other depicting Chang E beside a hare using a pestle and mortar, both with some detail painted red and gilt -- 17¼in. (44cms) high, (old wear, some areas of repair).
