This is the first attempt at a complete catalogue of the British Museum sculpture collection, begun by Taylor Combe, continued by Edward Hawkins, and finished by Samuel Birch. Among the collections included are those of Charles Towneley and Lord Elgin. Blackmer 384; Brunet II, 176.
