A Large Gilt Bronze Figure of Akshobya
Tibet, 15th Century
Seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base with beaded rims with his hands in bhumisparsa mudra, wearing a fitted sanghati with beaded border falling in pleats at his shoulder and feet, his face in a calm disposition with lidded almond eyes under arched brows centered by a turquoise-inlaid urna, flanked by pendulous pierced earlobes, with his hair in coiled curls rising to a domed ushnisha surmounted by a bud-shaped cintamani, the base cast with vajra at center inlaid with turquoise, sealed with a gilt baseplate incised with visvavajra amidst flaming jewels and lotus buds
