late 18th Century
pierced, carved, gilt and painted in brown camaïeu with Vergil's Epitaph after Angelica Kaufmann, two oval portrait panels of young ladies, carved ivory oval panels, the guard sticks with oval female portrait medallions within blue enamel surrounds, and with an oval blue enamel floral centred panel
11 in. (180 mm.) high, on glazed fan-shaped case
