Paris, 1789, with the charge and discharge marks of Jean-François Kalendrin 1789-1792, maker's mark badly struck but including a 'J', later struck with two French import marks 1864-1893
Slightly tapering yellow gold étui of octagonal section, the panels on cover, four sides and base engine-turned with vertical reeding scattered with pellets and stars, within scalloped borders, the matted borders chased with scrolls and green gold leaves and pellets, raised red gold rims, the raised top of the cap chased with a scrolling and foliate green gold motif on a matted yellow gold panel and surrounded by a laurel wreath, the later matrix engraved with name Helène
