The rectangular brass case engraved overall with floral designs and with spreading foot, the black lacquered convex chapter ring painted with gilt characters, the revolving brass centre with pin-hole alarm set and stationary steel hand, the twin train movement with verge escapement and double foliot, with countwheel strike and alarm on flattened bell, on black lacquered pyramidal stand with brass side handles and removable front panel, and under glazed hood -- the clock -- 13½in.
