Lot Essay

This is delightful example of the group of Official School bottles which are part natural designs, or shadow-agates, and part silhouette, where a thin surface plane of color has been slightly edited. The scene evoked is a powerful one, of a hawk, perched in the upper branches of a large tree, watching a passing butterfly.
