Lot Essay

This is an extremely rare example of a group better known in nephrite discussed by H. Moss, V. Graham, K.B. Tsang, A Treasury of Chinese Snuff Bottles: The Mary and George Bloch Collection, Hong Kong, 1995, vol. 1, Jade, no. 70.

For two sets of ten white jade bottles of eggplant form, in their original boxes, see Chang Lin-sheng, Snuff Bottles in the Collection of the National Palace Museum, Taipei, 1991, p. 142, no. 112 and p. 145, no. 115.
