A Dutch silver and mother-of-pearl box with cover
Mark of Barend van Mecklenburg, Amsterdam, 1786, the mother-of-pearl carving in the manner of Cornelis Bellekin (1665-1736)
Cylindrical, on gadrooned spreading foot, with gilt interior, the detachable circular cover with gadrooned border set with a shell-shaped mother-of-pearl plaque surmounted with acanthus leaves, the shell carved in low and high relief with six music-making and marching infant bacchante, one riding on a goat with laurel wreath preceded by one holding a laurel wreath, the ground scattered with flowers and grass, marked on base
