The plain belt-hook with shaped triangular front chased with a scene of a seated woman with a pair of compasses and a globe, a putto with an open book below symbolizing Science, on a matted ground surrounded by scrolling flowers and foliage, with six reeded link chains, centred by a similar link with a putto holding a cup, the chains with bodkin and cover, two acorn-shaped covered containers and a pair of partly iron scissors with detachable holder, marked on belt-hook
