Oblong with shaped ends, the hinged cover engraved with horse-powered machinery probably representing the interior of a brewery, within a band of scrolling foliage, the sides with similar foliage and a laurel wreath, the base with a coach and horses being ferried across a river, the upper rim engraved with initials GVDR, marked inside base
