Marie de Medicis entrant dans Amsterdam ... traduicte du Latin. Amsterdam: Joan and Cornelius Blaeu, 1638. 2° (404 x 250mm). Title with engraved arms of Amsterdam. Engraved portrait of Marie de Medici, 16 folding etched plates by S. Savry after L.C. Moyaert, S. de Vlieger, and Martsen de Jonge. With final blank. (Title rehinged and slightly soiled, first plate with old repair along verso of fold, some plates wormed at upper margin.) Old roan-backed boards (rubbed).
The Latin and French editions were published in the same year, a Dutch edition following in 1639. The large plates depict the entry of Marie de Medici into Amsterdam with admiring crowds, and ceremonial and allegorical scenes. Landwehr Splendid Ceremonies 109.
