Engraved additional title, dated '1622'. 36 engraved plates by and after Hondius, 2 double-page, all bound on page-width guards to throw clear and folded, woodcut tailpiece and initials. (Variable light browning, some light marginal dampstaining, affecting image on a few plates, one plate with a small hole, another affected by a paper flaw.) Contemporary speckled half calf, the spine divided into compartments by raised bands, lettered in gilt in one (lightly rubbed, 3 corners skilfully repaired, lower free endpaper torn out).
FIRST EDITION. The work was reissued both in Dutch (Rotterdam: 1624) and in French (The Hague: 1625), and many of the plates were reproduced by Joseph Moxon in his Practical Perspective (London: 1670). Berlin Kat. 4709 (Rotterdam 1624 edition); Fowler 155.
