After a François-Thomas Germain model, of baluster form, on three leaf-clad feet, the spiral-fluted body with short spout formed as coffee leaves, with wood side handle, the hinged cover with coffee leaf bud finial, marked under base and on cover bezel

Lot Essay


This coffee pot is based upon a Germain design in 1759-60 as part of an extensive silver service made for the Portuguese court of Joseph I.
