Berlin, circa 1760, maker's mark AG, possibly for Albertus Gärtner
Cartouche-form, on four shaped feet, the backplate chased with flowers and rocaille with eight fonts, the hinged cover chased with flowers, with later servant lamp, marked on backplate

Lot Essay

An almost identical Chanukkah lamp is in the collection of the Jewish Museum, London, also with the mark AG, possibly for Albertus Gärtner and is illustrated in E. D. Barnett, Catalogue of the Jewish Museum, London, 1974, p. 48, no. 239, plate LXXXVIII.
