Unique portfolio. 1975. 13 gelatin silver prints, mounted, overmatted and bound in an album. Varying sizes from 3 3/8 x 5 1/8in. to 4¾ x 7 1/8in. (8.5 x 13cm. to 12.1 x 18.1cm.) Signed, titled, dated and annotated Dedicated to Odilon Redon. What a wonderful mystery you have given to me. I am thinking of you tonight in ink on the flyleaf; each with bound, waxed interleaving paper, extensively annotated in ink. Large oblong 4to album with cloth covers and impressed lettering on the spine; slipcase with affixed title label.

This album is one of ten unique works created by Michals in 1975. Each album consists of a different selection of photographs and original writings exploring such topics as love, art and nature. Included in Album Number 4 is a portrait of Michals' father, mother and brother Timothy; I love to Dream; Narcicus [sic]; Thinking about De Chirico; Roons; The Newley Weds; and The Young Girl's Dream (a sequence of 5).
