The volume contains three works, the Bustan of Sa'di, a work by Jami and Shirin and Farhad by Vahshi Bafghi.
Mirza Baba is well known for the majestic large portraits of Fath 'Ali Shah such as that in the Oriental and Indian Office Library collection, or one in a private collection, (Diba, L.S. ed.: Royal Persian paintings, London, 1998, fig. 6, p. 20 and no. 36 p. 180
He is also regarded as the finest painter of still life in the late 18th century. Miniature painting of the early Qajar period of this quality is rare.
