AN IZNIK POTTERY DISH
Ottoman Turkey, circa 1580
With sloping rim on short foot, the white interior painted in cobalt-blue, deep turquoise-green and bole-red within black outlines showing an asymmetrical floral spray, the rim with polychrome scrolling motifs and stylised waves, the exterior with paired blue tulips alternating with red and green rosettes, rim chips, foot drilled, rim drill hole restored
11¾in. (29.7cm.) diam.
