Together 55 issues, 4o. Original pictorial wrappers, mostly color (some browning, covers of first issue detached); cloth box. Illustrated. Each issue contains the FIRST APPEARANCE IN PRINT of one of Hamilton's parodies, including: "The Case of the Biscuit Tin," "The Freckled Hand," "The Yellow Phiz," etc. The Herald was discontinued possibly due to paper regulations in WWI. Number 33 contains the first Herlock Sholmes story of the "New Series."
