Lot Essay

An interior such as this can for example be found in a country house in France. On a French provincial walnut commode, dating back to the first half of the 18th century, stands an 18th century Japanese Imari jar and cover. On the wall hang a Louis XIV gilt embossed and ebony mirror and a comtoise clock.
