Krug claim that this wine gets the same treatment as their Grand Cuvée, however this difference is in the fruit, 100 single vineyard grand cru chardonnay. The 1985 is one of the most seamless & elegant champagnes I have ever had. It has unheard balance & finesse, it is quite a remarkable wine in every respect. The bubbles are very fine. It has a very pure bouquet of soft yeasty bread, yet with a certain crispness. Although this wine has considerable weight it has such a soft satinlike mouthfeel; it's extremely complex, lots of yeasty fresh fruit. The finish is very long & refined. This is something else! DW
