Château Latour--Vintage 1970
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
Levels: two bottom neck or better, four very top, two top, three upper-top and one upper shoulder; slightly soiled labels
Tasted 03/02 Clean ruby/red color, orange hints on rim, very pure. Intense aroma's of brambles, dark berries & chewy prunes; opens out
wonderfully with time. A really fantastic wine fully deserving of it's reputation & price, infact a relative steal in todays marketplace. Very slightly dry, the abundant tannins yield superbly to the lush layers of fruit; packed with earthy, yet ripe currants. Great balance, a wine that has it all. A knockout Latour, wow! DW
