A pair of Berlin ornithological cornucopia-shaped wall-pockets
Circa 1772, underglaze blue sceptre marks to interiors
One modelled to the left, the other to the right, each painted with two finches perched on branches within gilt scalloped half-cartouches against a scrolling fluted ground terminating in gilt and pink foliage above tied with a horizontal moulded gilt band suspending a swag of pink and yellow striped cloth, the shell-moulded lower parts issuing moulded up-turned foliage and reeds (left pocket with chip to swag at far right, section to reverse at rim lacking, minute chip to reverse of tip, right pocket with slight chipping to lower tip)
