A Berlin coffee-can and saucer
Circa 1795-1800, underglaze blue sceptre and painter's iron-red 4., marks to both, saucer with incised / to footrim
Painted with vertical blue and gilt stripes, the blue stripes edged with puce lines, the borders with gilt panels with rosettes alternating with seeded gilt panels with blue and puce scrolls, the angular handle and rims enriched with gilding (very slight rubbing to well of saucer)
