Facsimile: Title printed in black and red, 11 plates by George Marston, 'trademark' on colophon and some section titles printed in brown or red. Pamphlet: illustrations. Leather-backed plywood boards, verso of upper cover with small format mounted paper limitation leaf, verso of lower cover with stencilled identification 'JULIENNE SOUP', spine tooled in blind with title 'Aurora Australis' and the two penguins symbol, uncut, as issued. Pamphlet: Original thin card wrappers, bound with thin green cord. All within a single plywood box, the base lined with leather, the lid heald in place and secured by thin green cord, small leather labels onlaid to cover and blindstamped with title and two penguins symbol.

Limited to 375 copies, this number 13. A very high quality facsimile, based on the Sir Joseph Kinsey/Turnbull Library 'Julienne Soup' copy of one of the legendary rarities of Antarctic literature. Conrad p.146; Renard 1440.
