Note:
1. Chen Yu was a notive of Jinling. His sobriquet names include Zhongxing and Jingcheng, and he was generally known as Master Jingcheng. He did not serve in the Yuan court but at the start of the Ming dynasty was a government official, assisting the first emperor. He was a literary man who also painted, specialising in landscapes and portraiture, and his subjects included the Hongwu emperor.
