A Märklin First Series 88cm. clockwork hand-painted Battle Cruiser, 'Brandenburg'
hull painted in red, black and grey with ivory water line and gunnel, mottled-wood simulated decking with mid and aft gun turrets painted with rivets and gold trim, nine projecting gun cannon and two forward firing side guns with hand-painted bow top, rectangular portholes and square lower deck portholes, fitted with twin funnels and two masts, lowering derricks and one life boat, fore and aft masts with standing rigging, crow's nest and look-outs, other details include winch, deck-houses painted with simulated glass-effect, and racheted helm to rudder, circa 1904 (G-VG, paintwork original, some general retouching and revarnishing, minor repairs and parts replaced, mechanism cleaned, some small parts missing)
