A CYPRIOT WHEELMADE WHITE PAINTED WARE BOWL
CYPRO-GEOMETRIC, 1050-750 B.C.
The deep bowl with two horizontally attached loop handles, the gently concave sides decorated with chequerboard panel between vertical bands of line-filled tangent triangles, the lower body tapered to small ring foot, repaired, 6 7/8 in. (17.5 cm.) high; a similar ware amphora, the body tapered to ring base, twin horizontal handles, the concave neck with everted rim, four vertical stripes of ladder pattern around the shoulder, bands above and below, groups of strokes on the rim, repaired, 13 1/8 in. (33.4 cm.) high; a jar with short neck, on flat base, the shoulder with cross-hatched panel between the twin vertical handles, 6¼ in. (16 cm.) high; and two jars, similar, each with twin vertical handles from the everted narrow rim to shoulder, the lower body tapered to small ring foot, both 5½ in. (14 cm.) high, all Cypro-Geometric, 1050-750 B.C. (5)
