A HELLENISTIC PAINTED TERRACOTTA GROUP OF EROS AND PSYCHE
3RD-2ND CENTURY B.C.
The nude figure of Eros entwined with the draped figure of Psyche standing to his left side, he wears a radiate diadem, a pair of wings outspread behind the figures, white gesso with traces of polychrome painted decoration, arms missing, wings repaired; and another group of Eros and a swan, Eros with wings outspread, seated on the back of a swan, his cloak beneath him and his right arm around the bird's neck, integral base modelled to represent rippling water, remains of blue and pink polychrome painted decoration, early 3rd Century B.C.
