A CYPRIOT HAEMATITE CYLINDER SEAL
CIRCA 1300 B.C.
With a central figure holding two flanking ibexes, one being attacked by a rampant winged griffin, a bull's head and stylized tree in the field, 7/8 in. (2.2 cm.) high; a Cypriot burnt picrolite cylinder seal with a human figure flanked by a rampant lion and a seated winged lion-griffin, two confronting birds above a stylized tree and a quadruped with two Cypro-Minoan characters and other symbols in the field, chipped, circa 1300 B.C., 1 1/8 in. (2.7 cm.) high; four other hardstone cylinder seals; three grey stone stamp seals, including one with frontally facing bull's head, various periods; a Sassanian haematite stamp seal with a profile figure of a boar, circa 4th-5th Century A.D.; and an Egyptian style blue glass cuboid seal with two Hathor heads (11)
