NEW KINGDOM, CIRCA 1200-900 B.C.
The plaque-like pregnant hippopotamus deity in profile to the right, suspension loop above, 7/8 in. (2.1 cm.) high; an Egyptian cornelian poppy-head bead, Dynasty XVIII, 1550-1295 B.C.; ½ in. (1.4 cm.) high; a Parthian brown and white banded agate triangular pendant with gold-capped terminals, two suspension loops above, circa 2nd Century B.C., 1 7/8 in. (4.7 cm.) long; a single and four pairs of gold earrings including a pair of Roman earrings with openwork rosette discs, another pair with twisted hoops and conical shield disc and two pairs of leech-shaped earrings, ¾ in, (1.8 cm.) high max.; a gold double hooped ring, the bezel set with cabochon garnet, 1 in. (2.6 cm.) across, all mainly 2nd-3rd Century A.D.; a Graeco-Egyptian green stone magical intaglio, engraved on one side with a cock-headed anguipede holding a shield, the other with Anubis(?), bordered by Greek inscriptions, circa 1st Century B.C./A.D., 15/16 in. (2.4 cm.) high; a cornelian and green stone bead necklace, restrung with modern clasp; and a group of beads of various periods, including Roman gold 'sandwich'-glass beads, circa 1st Century B.C., and three Western Asiatic gold winged-disc beads, early 2nd millennium B.C.(a lot)
