Oval, with her 's'-curved body and head facing right, holding a sistrum in her left hand and by her side in her right hand the situla of sacred Nile-water, in later gilt hoop
Intaglio 9/16 in. (1.4 cm.) high; ¾ in. (1.9 cm.) across inner hoop
Provenance
Reputedly found in the vicarage garden, Wroxeter, near Shrewsbury, Shropshire, prior to 1859. By descent to the present owner whose great great-aunt, as a child, had been given the ring as a gift from the Vicar of Wroxeter, the Revd. Edward Egremont, M.A.
