A Japanese ivory okimono of a carpenter
19th Century
carved with the man wearing robes holding a large saw, seated beside his tool box and on a straw mat, red lacquer signed tablet to underside, wood stand -- 2 5/8in. (6.6cm.) wide; and a Japanese cloisonne koro and cover, decorated in various coloured enamels with butterflies amongst geometric floral designs, on tripod feet -- 2 7/8in. (7.3cm.) high, (minor wear, finial to koro missing).
