A Chinese soapstone mountain group
17/18th Century
carved in relief on one side with a group of immortals holding a scroll open below a pine tree before mountains, the reverse with further immortals walking along a tree-lined mountainous path leading to a pavilion above rockwork and foaming waves, on a gilt and lacquered wood stand -- 5¾in. (14.6cm.) wide, (one section re-stuck, minor nicks).
